about

I am a medical doctor and have been working in my naturopathic practice in Berlin-Mitte
since 2006.
The holistic approach is at the heart of my work.

Antje StreiflerMy why

It is in our nature to want to help and heal.

A dualistic perspective on health that considers the body and mind independently of each other does not make sense to me. Psychology without considering the body or medicine without integrating the mind seems incomplete to me.

For me, "interactions" or a continuum of body and mind (and soul) are not a special phenomenon of psychosomatic illnesses, but describe how I understand health and illnesses. If we only address one of these two aspects in therapy, recovery is often not sustainable.

In my work, I try to consider and understand the interplay between the physical and psychological aspects. The anamnesis is a key element of this and requires more space and time than the few minutes that are usually available to me in a panel practice.

Chinese medicine is an approach that integrates body-mind and emotions. Acupuncture in particular seems to work at the interface between the physical and mental realms. Nutritional therapy also works in both directions and keeps body and soul together.

The fact that I write a lot about of women's health is mainly due to the fact that women's concerns have been neglected or not treated at all in our healthcare system and there is still a large gap in care here.
